In House Teacher Training 2009 - 2011

 

This year sees the inauguration of a Steiner Waldorf teacher training programme suitable for those wishing to enter Steiner / Waldorf teaching and for mainstream teachers seeking to deepen and enliven their existing practice.

 

The course structure allows substantial flexibility for those with current commitments and an opportunity to achieve an understanding and practice of the Steiner Waldorf pedagogical philosophy and methodology.

 

Over the two years, participants will be introduced to the philosophical background of Steiner Education in relation to the human being and its purpose in viewing the teacher and the education as artist and art.

 

The in-house aspect of the course will allow a greater flexibility for participants to develop their studies. The course will be supported by a wide range of tutors including visiting lecturers.

Year 1

 

Will include numerous artistic areas of development in music, eurythmy, speech formation, painting, drawing, boardwork and bookwork.

 

Child development based upon  the physical, physiological and spiritual human developmental picture which will be studied in Dr. Steiners' educational lectures. This will lead into the application and creativity of Waldorf pedagogical methodology and curriculum studies.

 

 

 

Year 2

 

Will expand upon and deepen year ones' themes with greater emphasis on specialist areas including Upper School elements and the wider educational aspects of a Waldorf School.
